THE ROLE

Our company is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist in Vancouver for a 12-month contract position with opportunity to extend.  

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Development & Strategy, this position will assist our team with client relations initiatives and developing integrated marketing strategies. This is an entry-mid level role for a recent graduate or an experienced professional. Education or experience in website design and maintenance, campaign management, content creation, graphic design, event production, and customer service is required. The ideal candidate will be organized, solution oriented, and have strong attention to detail.

 

The work is diverse, challenging, and rewarding, and allows you to be hands-on and integral to the growth of the company as we expand our operations across Canada and beyond. Training will be provided.


EDUCATION

  • Degree or Diploma in a Marketing or Communications Program from an accredited university or college is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development:

  • Support the Business Development team in the review, development, and improvement of Normac’s online and offline marketing
  • Industry Associations: research and maintain relationships with association memberships including the creation and submission of marketing content for publications
  • Market Research + Lead Generation: conduct research for prospective client lists and competitors in new markets on a regional basis
  • Sales: perform inside sales duties to close on new and renewal business; Follow up on client proposals using Zoho CRM; Respond to client inquiries and requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Events: Lead the coordination of all association, sponsored, or marketing events, such as golf tournaments, lunch and learn presentations, conferences, virtual events, etc.
    • Oversee event activities including marketing, invitations, agendas, scheduling, process, production schedules, onsite supervision, and execution
    • Plan, research, source, arrange, and coordinate all creative logistical elements as required
    • Represent Normac at all events
  • Client Incentives: coordinate gifts and incentives (i.e. Whitecaps, Canucks tickets, Xmas gifts, etc.)
  • Swag: create and source new branded apparel and promotional materials
  • Budget: track monthly marketing expenses for budgeting purposes


Digital Marketing:

  • Build excitement around and knowledge of the Normac brand, establishing top of mind awareness campaigns and increased social media engagement
  • Email Campaigns: manage the scheduling and creation of all email campaigns, adhering to brand standards, marketing best practices and applicable regulations, including CASL
  • Graphic Files: maintain, format, and distribute all graphics files including logos, branded assets, PowerPoint presentations, and templates
  • Content Creation: conceptualize, write, and post custom content for the Normac website, social media channels, and in-print materials to promote Normac as an industry leader; Help grow awareness of Normac as we expand into new territories
  • Website Maintenance:
    • Responsible for facilitating website content and design updates to ensure information and resources are kept up-to-date, accurate, and optimised for user experience; Raising any requirements or recommendations as needed
    • Coordination with web developer to ensure website software subscriptions are renewed and other updates are completed on time and without issue
  • Graphics Projects: coordinate and create assigned projects using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Marketing Campaigns: support execution of social media and advertising campaigns across LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms
  • Marketing Analytics: monitor effectiveness of digital strategies and marketing campaigns and provide campaign reports, quarterly reports, and recommendations for future opportunities
  • Company Quarterly Newsletter: collect and compile submissions for the company newsletter; Design and distribute to team
  • Responsible for completing projects on time, within budget, and within Normac’s standards and quality

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma in a Marketing or Communications Program from an accredited university or college is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a Business Development, Marketing, or Graphic Design role
  • Thorough knowledge of graphic design principles; Advanced knowledge of programs within the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Experience with social media marketing including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Ads; Experience with content creation and campaign strategy
  • General understanding of Facebook and Google analytics and reporting required (Google Ads and Google Analytics certified preferred)
  • Familiarity with email communications, email marketing campaigns and software tools (Mailchimp), and CASL best practices
  • Experience with WordPress; Experience with Elementor is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Familiarity with Zoho CRM an asset
  • Aptitude for creativity, design thinking, and customer/user experience
  • Excellent collaboration skills and comfortable working in team environment; Also able to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; Professional writing style, ability to send correspondence on behalf of Manager
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience with stakeholder management; Ability to work with, understand and support various stakeholders, clients, and vendors with emphasis on superior customer service
  • Proven ability to approach members of the public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
  • Works well under pressure, able to meet deadlines in a calm manner, and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and detail oriented
  • Ability to travel to various promotional events within the Lower Mainland
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include occasional evenings and weekends
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract is required
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
