The Role

Our Vancouver head office is seeking a Marketing & Events Coordinator to join our Marketing and Business Development team. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this entry-mid level position is a full-time 15-month contract to cover for a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will have an educational background in marketing or business with 2+ years of related experience in a marketing and event coordination role. From social media communications to event execution, this is a great opportunity for someone who is creative, outgoing and self-directed and who likes to work in a collaborative team environment.

One-part marketing genius, one-part event planner and one-part business development guru, the Marketing & Events Coordinator will provide an important role in the company’s rapid growth through marketing, event coordination and business development activities.

Required Education

  • Degree or Diploma in a Marketing Program from accredited universities such as UBC, SFU, BCIT, KPU etc.; Bachelor of Commerce degree an asset



  • Manage, design and write content on company website, social media and in print to promote Normac as industry leader; help grow awareness of Normac as we expand into new territories
  • Create and source new branded apparel and promotional materials
  • Research and maintain relationships with industry association memberships including the creation and submission of marketing content for publications

Event Coordination:

  • Oversee event activities including marketing, invitations, agendas, scheduling, process, production schedules, onsite supervision and execution, including rentals
  • Plan, research, source, arrange and coordinate all creative logistical elements as required for trade shows, etc.
  • Coordinate logistics for sponsored events and manage partner relationships
  • Represent Normac at industry association and client events
  • Organize Normac social events for our employees, including a Summer BBQ and Christmas Party

Business Development:

  • Compile and follow up on client proposals using Maximizer CRM 
  • Perform inside sales to close on new and renewal business
  • Coordinate presentations and lunch and learns for potential new clients

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a marketing and event coordination role
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills; experience curating original content
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Professional writing style, ability to send correspondence on behalf of Manager
  • Ability to drive projects independently while working closely, and in collaboration with the team and Manager
  • Works well under pressure, able to meet deadlines in a calm manner and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Stakeholder management – ability to work with, understand and support various stakeholders, clients and vendors with emphasis on superior customer service
  • Experience with email marketing campaigns and software tools
  • Experience with WordPress and Maximizer CRM a plus
  • Experience with social media marketing including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Google+ as well as Google AdWords and Google analytics
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and detail oriented
  • Proven ability to approach members of the public in a friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and outgoing manner
  • Ability to travel to various promotional events within the Lower Mainland
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include occasional evenings and weekends
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract is required
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
